This procedure has been controversial; leakage of melanin in the eye can result in a condition known as pigmentary glaucoma, and blindness can result from the operation itself. While Dr. Homer has reported that his results show that vision unaffected by his laser eye color surgery technique, the jury remains out.
Another very popular procedure in the US and other countries is corrective eye surgery (aka vision correction surgery) such as LASIK which is undertaken to improve the conditions of nearsightedness and farsightedness; decreasing or eliminating dependence on eyeglasses or contacts.
Non-Cosmetic Eye Surgery
Eye correction surgery usually refers to operations which address physical conditions such as crossed eyes, and so called lazy eye blindness. However, before ‘fixing’ your eyes, maybe you should consider getting rid of all unwanted hair on your body. Maybe you should search for laser hair removal in Sydney, specially if you’re an Aussie?
Lazy eye blindness, known formally as amblyopia, is an ocular disorder which occurs in what appears to be an otherwise normal eye which presents as misaligned or is drifting. Amblyopia occurs when visual input is poorly transmitted to the brain, or when the brain “switches off” the input from that eye to minimize the effects of double vision. Amblyopia usually only affects one eye, although it is possible to have it in both.
Treatment for amblyopia usually involves non-invasive solutions, i.e., wearing eyeglasses or utilizing eye patches over the good eye to “force” the brain to accept input from the affected eye. When the problem is discovered and treated in childhood, the emphasis is on retraining the brain and eye to work together often with excellent results.
